7:00-10:00am   FIRE DEPT BREAKFAST

The Paradise Fire Department is cooking up breakfast! 
Pancakes, ham, hashbrowns, eggs, orange juice and coffee.

Food will be served in to-go boxes so you can take food home to eat, or you can find a table. We’ll be trying to keep lines spaced out and minimize person-to-person contact. 

Purchase tickets at the breakfast: $8 for adults and $5 for kids.

9:00am   FLAG CEREMONY BY TOWN VETERANS

This year’s flag ceremony will be performed by some Military Veterans of Paradise. 


10:00-11:30am   DUP MUSEUM OUTDOOR EXHIBIT

The Daughters of Utah Pioneer Museum offers a look at some of Paradise’s history. Feel free to stop by in the morning, around the time of the Parade. Look at photos, and chat with these dedicated members of the DUP.

They will also have on display the beautiful handmade quilt that they’ve donated for a fundraiser. You can purchase tickets for the fundraiser and for a chance to win the quilt on the day of the event.  Proceeds help support and maintain the museum. 

Quilt is an original design by Kari Camire. The fabrics are all 100% cotton. The queen-size quilt top is made of a heavier textured cotton and the hand-cut, machine-applied appliqué is made of various printed and woven cotton fabrics. The batting is 100% cotton and the back is a high-quality muslin. Hand quilted by members of the Sagwich Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, they will be available from members of Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Paradise and Avon. After purchasing your fund raiser tickets online, you can pick them up at the DUP booth Saturday morning or evening. Drawing to be held at 8pm Saturday evening (Aug 22nd).


10:30am   PARADISE PARADE

We’ve extended the Parade route this year so that household groups 
can  S P R E A D  out for social distancing. Click here to view the route. Look for signage to direct you, and find a great place to enjoy the parade!

The parade starts and ends near the post office, as you can see in the map below.


12-3:00  COMMUNITY RODEO at the Paradise Arena 9600 S 100 E

**Some food trucks will be on-site during the rodeo, if you’re hungry!

Entries open for Pardise/Avon locals Monday Aug 3rd, 10-6pm. Call or text Amy Miller at 801-529-7210. Remaining spots will be open to the general public on Aug 5.

  • Contestants run down the arena on their horse, then hand horse off to their partner. They must find their boots in the pile, remount their horse, and run back to the start/finish line. Winner takes all.

  • Walk/Trot (5 and under) (Parent encouraged to hold their child)
  • PeeWee (6–8 Years old)
  • Junior (9-11 Years old)
  • Senior (12–15 Years old)

OPEN BULL RIDING                                                                   $60/per person

  • Payment required within one week of entry, to allow cash payouts to winners at the time of rodeo. Pay by Venmo, or Check payable to the Town of Paradise.
  • Slack will run after the rodeo for Team Roping and Barrel Racing, if needed.

3:30-5:00pm  COMMUNITY AUCTION

Thank you to all the local businesses and individuals that have donated their goods and services to benefit our community! Come bid on your favorite items! You can also buy raffle tickets for the beautiful Quilt donated by the DUP. (Buy raffle tickets online or at the Auction)

6:00-8:30pm  TROUT DINNER & BERRY TARTS 
                             (live music & kids game)

The best trout dinner you’ll ever have! Dinner includes: Pan Fried Trout, Baked Potato, Corn on the Cob, Dinner Roll and a delicious Berry Tart with fresh berries!

Dinner will be served in to-go boxes so you can decide if you’d like to eat at home, or at the park. Tables will be spread out throughout the park (which you’re welcome to use), you can bring your own chairs, or a blanket to spread on the lawn. There will be live music too! Enjoy your evening, and please remember social distancing.

We’ll also have a kids game going on during dinner- look for the table where they can get started. When they complete the game they can return to the table to get their treat, a FatBoy!

Dinner Tickets are $15. Buy them one of three ways:

  • From a Lions Member
  • At the event (cash or check accepted)
  • Pre-purchase tickets online (available until 2:30 pm on Saturday)

We recommend you SKIP THE LINE by pre-purchasing your tickets!
After pre-purchasing your ticket online, you will pick up your tickets from the Will-Call table on the day of the event.

KIDS GAME and LIVE MUSIC

During the dinner there will be a Kids’ Outdoor Scavenger Hunt. Come to the Will-Call table to get a worksheet. When completed, kids can bring it back to the table and get a Fat Boy ice cream sandwich! (one per child, please)

There will also be Live Music during dinner.

 

RODEO ROYALTY:

As part of Trout and Berry Days and the Community Rodeo, we’re proud to be having a Rodeo Royalty contest this year! Contest will be held on August 13th at 6pm at the Paradise Arena. (9600 S 100 E)

PRINCESS & PRINCE division (8 and under)
– Ride a stick horse pattern, answer a judge’s question.

QUEEN & KING division (9 and over)
-Ride a western horseman pattern (walk/trot/lope) in the arena, answer a judge’s question & give a 1 minute self-introduction to include hobbies and accomplishments.

Winners will be invited to ride in the Paradise Parade on Aug 22, as well as reign over the Rodeo (also on Aug 22) and other town events throughout the year.


 


***Some events have been omitted this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. We have worked with Bear River Health Department to ensure that events meet their recommendations for safety & social distancing.

We strongly encourage all those who attend to practice personal responsibility and maintain a safe social distance from other families. With an extended parade route and some additional changes we feel this can be a fun and safe event!
